This week, I was putting the finishing touches on my project and assembling my box. I ran into quite a few, stressful last minute problems.

The most stressful being, after putting my batteries and protoboard in my box, my lid would not go on. This is because I chose a snap on lid design:

and even though I had measured correctly how much space the batteries and protoboard would take up, I didn’t account for the few extra millimetres that the lid takes up, so the box was not deep enough, and I had to get it reprinted.

I also had a problem with my wires not staying put on my protoboard. My first attempt to fix this was hot glueing them in place. However, because of how small my circuit is and how imprecise a hot glue gun is, I ended up glueing wires not quite in their slots and ruined my circuit. After a couple more attempts with the hot glue gun, I realised I could take off the plastic cases on my protoboard, which were preventing my wires from staying put in the first place. This was a reminder to look and explore my problems properly, instead of jumping to the first solution I think of.

Even though it was stressful towards the end, and I feel like there are things I could’ve done better/ improved, overall, I’m very pleased with my result.
