At the start of the collaborative project, I felt a little disappointed with our subject matter. We focused on sustainable energy, which is something I had already done in BSc2a, and I wanted to learn something new. However, I remembered that this project is more about developing collaborative skills than practical skills, and that it would give me the opportunity to expand and really refine my knowledge of generating energy.
I also found myself jealous of the other group, as they decided to create an art installation for their project, and I didn’t feel I was being creative enough. However, I did end up finding pockets of creativity, for instance, sketching our project’s 3D model/ mascot. Sketching in my projects has been something I’ve really enjoyed this year, and it always helps me to rapidly move the project forward.

I also found other creative vices outside of my uni work. Parallel to the collaborative projects that all of year 2 has been pursuing, I’ve started working with a friend (a fine art student) to create a partially animitronic sculpture. My contribution to the project is engineering eyes that will literally follow someone around the room.
We decided to use a Miro board to gather all our findings, research, and ideas. This is the same thing I’ve been doing with my group project, as I’ve found an informal space, like a Miro board, to splurt out anything to do with a project very beneficial.
