This week, I felt much more confident in my workand what was going on. I also felt like I could be more creative now that the more technical workshops were over and we had time to experiment without worrying about burning transistors.

Over the summer, I had played around with Blender a bit to get used to 3D modelling software, as I knew we would be doing 3D printing this year. So, going from Blender to Fusion 360 was a nice transition, as Fusion has a much less intimidating interface.

After learning and experimenting with Fusion, I realised I needed to start seriously thinking about what I wanted to do for my project. I had a lot of fun being artistic again and making sketches for my design.

After the previous week’s stress, I started working on my own coding project. I’m trying to make a website that can recognise different notes played on guitar and produce fun visuals based on what notes are being played, using p5.js. I’m not sure how far I’ll get with this, as I’ll be prioritising my uni work. However, after attending the lecture from Alex Hort-Francis, where he talked about how important it is to have your own projects and to make weird stuff to become a valuable technologist, I will try to give a fair amount of time to this. He also mentioned Codebar, which are free monthly coding workshops in Norwich, I hadn’t heard of before. So I’m considering going along to one of the sessions with this project.
