I was buzzing to be back and start year 2, but I was also incredibly nervous about the new, higher and harder workload. Reviewing what we’d learnt about circuitry last year was comforting, as I remembered most of it, and I was worried about forgetting too much of last year’s skills. However, when we started looking at the new content, I felt a bit lost and struggled to concentrate. To help me feel confident again, I reviewed the lesson at home by looking back at the slides and making some notes to improve my understanding. I plan to review content after class more this year, so that I don’t get as overwhelmed.

Stepping back from our academic work, we had the Make It Manifesto, which I was very excited about as I had missed last year’s. We got the chance to do projection mapping, which I was thrilled about! As it’s something I’ve seen a lot in exhibitions, and I’ve been intrigued by it for a long time. I had a great time learning how to use the MadMapper software and experimenting with the different ways it can be used. Even though we didn’t have a very good room (too much natural light and not many interesting objects to project onto), I think it was a good opportunity to be creative with the space. I hope I can figure out ways of incorporating projection mapping into my projects, as I really loved it.
