This week, we began working with LCD screens on our Arduino boards. I had a lot of trouble with the wiring of the screen and my board, which was quite frustrating. However, this issue has taught me how important it is to use clear and consistent colour coordination for my circuit wires, and it’s something I’ll definitely give more attention to from now on.

For the Creative Tech Task 1, I decided to base my Arduino project on a favourite Black Sabbath band t-shirt of mine, and more specifically, their song Iron Man.

I’m really enjoying the creativity and freedom that this task allows. I also enjoy using the Arduino boards, even though I found them a bit difficult at first and still do. It’s also exciting to explore both music and tech in one project. This task is making me look forward to next year, when we’ll be focusing more on technology, robotics, and circuitry.

Focusing more on my research essay, I decided on a title for it: Is AI Enhancing or Dimishing Human Creativity in the Arts and Media? I chose this topic because it feels incredibly relevant right now and is something I’ve already had a lot of conversations and debates about with friends and family. To be honest, I don’t have a strong view on the subject yet, which is one of the reasons I thought it would be a good subject to explore further. I’m hoping the research and writing process will help me develop a more informed and solid perspective.
