Coming back to uni after missing a few weeks was a bit nerve racking, but luckily the work I had done over Christmas break had paid off. I was able to catch up to the same point as my classmates within a morning session, thanks to the Pololu theory I had studied as well as their help.

My Pololu was running into issues of over/under turning when making U-turns, causing it to get confused throughout the rest of the maze. Slowly calibrating it by using fake ends and adjusting delays, although a bit annoying, proved to be very beneficial to me. It really helped me to get to know the code and have a better understanding of what each part is doing.

It was really fun to attend Bevis’s P5.js with hardware workshop. Not only because of the interesting content, but working alongside the year 1 students reminded me how far I’ve come with my circuitry and coding skills. I tend to doubt my knowledge and always feel behind my peers, so it was refreshing to follow along much more easily than they did.

After this week, I am feeling much more confident about myself and my work than I did at the end of term.
