This week, I decided to add a 3D printed component to my door closing robot, primarily to make the Pololu heavier so it can close doors more easily and be less likely to be knocked off course by my cat. While designing this, I had a great deal of difficulty figuring out how everything I wanted,

• Access to the ‘on/off’, ‘reset’ and ‘B’ buttons
• OLED screen visable
• Space for an added weight

would fit together while still looking aesthetically pleasing. I found it especially hard to keep the buttons accessible, as my print would be containing a heavyweight, so it needed a good amount of support to attach to the Pololu. In the end, I decided to make it so I would have to temporarily remove my printed component to access the buttons. It was quite fiddly doing this. However, given the limited time for this project, I remembered it would just be a prototype and felt okay with it.
